We are passionate about working with authors to bring their stories to life. To ensure a smooth submission process, please follow these guidelines when submitting your manuscript for consideration.
General Requirements
Genres We Accept: Fiction, Non-Fiction, Poetry Collection, Short Fiction Collection
Languages: Currently accepting English-language manuscripts only.
Word Count:
Novels: 50,000–100,000 words
Novellas: 20,000–50,000 words
Non-Fiction: 30,000–80,000 words
Original Work Only:
The manuscript must be the author’s original work and not previously published, except in self-published cases where rights have reverted to the author.
Formatting Requirements
File Type: Submit as a Microsoft Word (.docx) or PDF file.
Font & Spacing: Times New Roman, 12-point font, double-spaced, with 1-inch margins.
Page Numbering: Numbered pages in the bottom right corner.
Title Page: Include manuscript title, author name (or pen name), word count, and contact information.
Submission Package
Your submission should include:
Query Letter – A one-page introduction including a brief book summary, your author background, and why your book is a good fit for Bluebonnet Books.
Manuscript Sample – The first 3 chapters or 10,000 words (whichever comes first).
Synopsis – A 1-2 page summary of your book, including the full plot (for fiction) or key themes (for non-fiction).

Response Time: Please allow 6-8 weeks for review. If we are interested in your manuscript, we will contact you for further discussion.
